I think that’s unfair, and a big reason why mainstream rap music is so terrible today (I am a rapper).

I built cXc Music (music.cxc.world) to give artists a way to get free exposure without spending anything. Local fans vote, and they move up in local charts, then can get bigger if the exposure helps them.

I think this article (which is great, don’t get me wrong) shows exactly what is WRONG with the music industry today. Music is about emotion, not budgets.
